First Birthday Shenanigans

For Anneliese's first birthday we got a membership pass to the aquarium.

She LOVED looking at all the fishes

Lots of fun to be had in the tide pool.

She kept trying really hard to say fish. She got the 'f' sound it's the 'ish' she couldn't do.

Back to the house for her birthday party dinner. Yes, I decorated with books.

Really interested in the bow on this one from Grandma and Grandpa.
Playing with Grandpa.

One of her favorites, homemade mac n' cheese, for dinner.
  And then dessert!

Sewing Table

I've had this post sitting in my drafts folder for awhile now. Guess I forgot about it. Anyways, here is the sewing extension table that Matthew and I made sometime ago. I wanted one for my larger sewing projects, like blankets and quilts.
First part, we cut the table down to the size I wanted and fit it for my sewing machine.

We then sanded all the edges and corners.

Next, we made some legs using a dowel rod and some leveling feet.

Our helper, look how tiny she was!

And the hard part, making the legs level.

My mostly finished product. We had to lower the legs some more so the table was flush with my machine. I also have a teflon sheet on my table to make moving the fabric around easier.

Here's the quilt I've been working on for Anneliese and the reason why I really wanted the sewing extension table. I have the top all finished, but I suck at the actual quilting part so haven't started that. I probably will end up doing something easy like straight lines which still gives a neat effect.

- Her Uncle Steve taught her to hive five and roar
- Took her first steps the day after she turned 11 months and is now an avid walker
- Refuses her tray on her highchair, only wants to eat off of plates on the table like the grown ups
- Has such a sense of humor and enjoys making Matthew and I laugh
- Currently going through a cuddle phase and only wants mommy (shes napping on me as I write this, something she has not done since she was an itty baby)
- Loves going outside
- Cries when her daddy leaves for work, she hates goodbyes
- Has not developed an attachment to a lovey yet but she does love her books and carrying around dirty shirts
- Says uh-oh all the time. Even when she sees another child fall or doing something they're not supposed to

Happy First Birthday Anneliese!

Today Anneliese turned one, at 6:25 am HST to be exact. She has been hell on wheels the past few days with a growth spurt, cutting two new teeth and hand foot mouth disease as well so I haven't been able to get her monthly photo done yet. You'll just have to settle for these amazing photos from her first birthday photo session with our photographer. I'll post her monthly photo in the next few days along with her first birthday fun facts. I made both of the headbands she's wearing in the photos because I wasn't able to find exactly what I was looking for. The one with pearls and crystals has some sentimental value behind them. The pearls are real and they came from a strand that belonged to my mom.

Not enough? Check out the whole gallery here.
